Echinocereus melanocentrus

Echinocereus melanocentrus

Echinocereus melanocentrus (or E. reichenbachii) is another member of this genus which is well worth growing. It can be a little untidy when not in flower with the body suffering from scarring where previous flowers have pushed their way through, but the flowers are freely produced and can almost cover the plant.
