The British Cactus & Succulent Society (BCSS) has about 80 Branches in the UK, including the Teesside Branch,
and offers excellent advice to members, publishes a quarterly journal, and has an annual seed distribution.

Teesside is a very active Branch, typically holding over 15 events each year.
In addition, we have a travelling contingent who add several more events to this total by participating in events being held by other Branches and regional Zones.

We hold regular meetings on the second Wednesday of the month, usually with a visiting speaker, often with picture shows and sometimes with plants for sale. The meetings are rarely of a very technical nature, with speakers often describing trips to see the plants in their natural habitat, discussing their own collections or cultivation techniques. The Branch organises other activities, such as greenhouse open days, plant sales, displays, shows, trips to specialist nurseries and occasional symposiums. In addition, the Branch has an extensive library which is open to paid up Branch members who regularly attend our meetings

New members or visitors are very welcome at any of our Branch Meetings and admission is FREE!. The Branch Factfile includes a map of where we meet. The Branch Photo Gallery contains a large number of pictures of our events and also includes more detailed descriptions of what we do. Join us and meet new friends who share your interest. Please come along and give us a try, then, if you decide you want to attend more often, you will be invited to take out membership of the Society nationally.
